How To Perform Pendulum Psychic Readings

Ask very easy yes or no questions with your eyes closed. Easy ones, like "is my name John Doe?" or "am I a male?" Plain, straight forward questions are the only way to train the pendulum. You also designate direction by doing this. If you are in fact a male, and it swings in a clockwise motion, that is now a "yes" answer. Do this many times, let your subconscious do the swinging, don't force it in any way.

Using the Pendulum On Others

Now that you have trained your pendulum, you can start using it to answer other people's questions. To do this, have them lay down on their back with their arms to their side and their legs pointed straight. This will center the chakra and enable a more precise reading. Hold the pendulum over the center of their chakra, located in the direct center of the chest. Have them ask the question one time, and then let the pendulum do the answering. If they ask you a question that you have an interest in, do your best to clear your mind and not influence the answer.

Use conservation of momentum to determine the block's speed immediately after the collision; then use conservation of energy to relate that to how high the block rises.

v_b = gun's muzzle speed (the thing we're looking for
m_w = mass of wooden block
v_w = speed of block immediately after collision.

Total momentum before collision:
(m_b)(v_b)

Total momentum after collision:
(m_b + m_w)(v_w)

Momentum is conserved, so: (total before) = (total after):
(m_b)(v_b) = (m_b + m_w)(v_w)

Solve for v_w:
v_w = (m_b)(v_b) / (m_b + m_w)

KE of wood+bullet immediately after collision:

KE = ½(m_b + m_w)(v_w)²
KE = ½(m_b + m_w)[(m_b)(v_b) / (m_b + m_w)]²
KE = ½(m_b)²(v_b)² / (m_b + m_w)

If the wood+bullet rises to height "h" (11.5 cm), then it gains this much PE:

PE = (m_b + m_w)gh

The KE changes entirely into PE, so:

KE = PE
½(m_b)²(v_b)² / (m_b + m_w) = (m_b + m_w)gh

The problem gives you the values of m_b, m_w, and h; and you know that "g" is 9.8m/sec². So just solve for "v_b".
