It it keeps running while you're wearing it and stops when you leave it alone for a few hours, then that's normal. The mechanism responds to movement, and the watch stops when you're not wearing it in order to conserve battery.
If it stops while you're wearing it, that's not cool, have it checked out. Either the new battery is defective, in which case I assume warranty will cover it, or something is wrong with the mechanism.
