Badge Holders Made Attractive

Badge holders are useful for displaying ID cards and protecting them from getting lost and from wear and tear. Most organizations that require ID cards also require that these cards be worn on the individual's person in such a way that it is clearly visible. As such, it helps to have badge holders that combine functionality with good looks.

The most popular of all badge holders is the lanyard. The lanyard is a cord attached to the ID card that is worn around the neck. The ends are attached together with a split ring or a metal hook. The end holds the ID card and this hangs freely from the neck. Lanyards are commonly made from nylon. The lanyard contains a feature that breaks away when tugged at. This is to avoid physical injury in a situation where the person wearing the lanyard may get trapped. Companies are coming out with a variety of lanyards from environment friendly ones made of renewable or recyclable materials such as bamboo to antimicrobial ones for hospitals and other sterile environment use. Some lanyards even come with cell phone and pen holders.

Another common way to wear your badge is with a badge clip. The vinyl strap is placed through the hole in the badge holder and snapped in. The metal clip attached to the badge holder can be clipped on to clothing.

Armband holders are for use at airports and government or military organizations. The armband holder is a badge holder with a Velcro strap. The Velcro strap holds the badge securely to the person's arm. The armband holder is best for people who need to display their identification clearly yet need to move freely without the ID holder getting in their way. The badge clips come in a variety of styles. Some of these are alligator clips, apparel guard clips, pressure sensitive clips, rubber tip badge clips, smooth face badge clips, thumb grip clips and steel badge clips.

ID cards for those who need to frequently access doors or computer networks can be held using a retractable badge reel. The badge reel uses a nylon cord to extend and retract. Pulling the cord away from the wearer extends the badge reel. Once the cord is relaxed, it retracts back to its original position. Certain environments call for particular ways of wearing badges. For example, those working at a construction site or in other tough working conditions need a badge holder that holds securely even when rigorous work is being done. The ideal way to wear the badge in such situations is to attach it to a hard hat. Such badge holders are known as hard hat badge holders.

A recent innovation in badge holders is the skim free badge holder designed for proximity cards. Such holders provide security from anyone trying to skim information from the badge without the holders' knowledge or authorization.

There are many ID card printers available in the market. These ID card printers are simple enough to be used by anyone.

Can I use old spaghetti sauce glass jars to pickle cucumbers?

All the recipe books/websites I have been reading have suggested the use of actual pickle jars (I guess they are synonymous with mason jars?). I love to reuse glass jars for whatever purpose I can possibly use them for (candles, incense holders, pen holder, growing herbs, etc) and I would hate to have them sit out for my next endeavor of pickling! Any one know if my sauce jars will alter the outcome of my pickles? Thanks!

If it's a good quality jar and has an opening the size of a canning lid, it will probably be fine. When I make them, I pack the jars with the cucumbers, dill, etc and then bring my brine to a boil. I pour the boiling brin over the top of everything (with a little space) and in the mean time, I boil some canning lids and rings in a shallow pan of water. As soon as I pour in the brine, I put on a lid and ring, tighthen it al the way up, and turn it over on a towel to seal. It works great for me and its what my mom and grandma always used to do. Theres so much salt in it, that you don't have to worry about anything turning out bad as long as you've cleaned the jars well.
