LCD manufacturers make flimsy lcd tv's so they make money from parts and repair fees?
Why not add a protective screen for impacts? Why does the consumer need to do this?
Because it adds more cost to producing the set which you pay for in the end anyways. I've been preaching Plexus glass and Velcro from day one but get the response, "it looks tacky." Not so tacky to save your screen. Especially with small kids in the house. When they get older you can always take it off. It's cheaper to replaced a scratched or dented piece of Plexus glass than the LCD panel......
